New Feature: Surplus Exchange

We’re excited to introduce a brand-new feature in the Grindless Point of Sale: the Grindless Surplus Exchange.

Over the years, our team has helped our clients move stale or excess inventory to other stores that could put it to better use. Sometimes that means selling inventory to free up cash. Other times, it means trading products for something that better fits the store’s customer base.

The challenge is that different stores, cities, and customer bases want different things. Products that may sit untouched at one location could be exactly what another store is looking for. And stores will sometimes purchase larger lots of products only to end up with a handful of desirable items, along with extra inventory that is harder to move.

This experience has shown us that there is potential for us to fulfill a gap in our clients’ needs, beyond what traditional auction sites can offer, and is what led us to create the Surplus Exchange.

The Surplus Exchange gives participating Grindless stores a new way to buy, sell, and trade inventory directly with one another. Instead of letting excess products continue to take up valuable shelf space and tie up cash, you can now make that inventory available to other verified Grindless clients.

Create Listings Turn surplus or slow-moving inventory into a listing that other participating Grindless stores can browse and purchase.

Browse Listings Explore inventory offered by other Grindless stores and review product details, pricing, shipping, and trade preferences.

Message Sellers Contact sellers privately to ask questions, discuss product conditions, negotiate details, or talk through a potential trade.

Submit Offers Send an offer directly through the Exchange, including your proposed payment amount, shipping information, and any notes for the seller.

Arrange Trades Use listings and offers to coordinate product-for-product trades with other participating Grindless stores.

Manage Shipments Track purchased and sold orders through Grindless, add shipment details, and import purchased product data to quickly create or update inventory without entering every item by hand.

The goal of the Surplus Exchange is to help you turn excess inventory that’s gathering dust on your shelves into something useful; either in the form of cold hard cash or in trade for items you’re looking for.

This is also just the beginning too, and we plan to continue expanding and improving the platform over time. For now, the core components are ready and we’re excited to get the ball rolling and give stores an option for moving bulk inventory, freeing up cash, and finding products that may be a better fit for their customers.
